Young people and generational solidarity are keys to building a stronger, more resilient Europe.
The double transitions – from school to work and from youth to adulthood – of young people, generational values and civil engagement are hence the main topics of the Make it Strong theme.
This theme investigates education, mobility and work for the young people, including fairness of educational opportunities, motivation to study science and technology, mobility preferences and experiences, attitude towards immigrants, and job security and opportunities.
In addition, it explores the perceptions of life, views on family and marriage, political orientations, trust in institutions and forms of active citizenship.
An academic expert is involved in the process for selecting questions to be fielded on the CROss-National Online Survey 3 (CRONOS-3) Panel. Professor Stoilova is also developing policy-relevant analysis of existing data on the topic that is being compiled for the inventory of survey items and harmonisation tasks.

Rumiana Stoilova is Professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Professor Stoilova’s research interests include sociology of stratification, inequalities in the transition to employment, sociology of gender, digital inequalities and intersectionality. She has previously worked with the European Social Survey and Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE).
