The Make It Green theme focuses on promoting environmental sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy across Europe.

Widespread social and behavioural changes at multiple levels are required to tackle the long-term challenges of climate change and environmental degradation. These changes have to be fair and equitable to ensure that the transition to a low-carbon society benefits everyone.

Within the Infra4NextGen project, this theme will explore public attitudes toward climate change, pro-environmental behavioural changes, and support for different climate policies.

It will also examine public perceptions of responsibility, contributions to climate change mitigation, and the fairness of how climate impacts and mitigation costs are distributed across different groups.

The academic expert is involved in the process for selecting questions to be fielded on the CROss-National Online Survey 3 (CRONOS-3) Panel. Professor Poortinga is also developing policy-relevant analysis of existing data on the topic that is being compiled for the inventory of survey items and harmonisation tasks.
