Data-driven insights for a green, digital, healthy, strong and equal Europe

1 July 2025

Venue: Online

Webinar

A webinar introducing evidence-based policy making concepts in the European Union was held on Tuesday 1 July 2025.

Julia Geistberger and Lisa Hirsch (AUSSDA | Vienna University Library) presented the session which featured the most insightful results from the second Infra4NextGen Hackathon.

Using data from the CROss-National Online Survey 3 (CRONOS-3) Panel, Hackathon entrants were tasked with communicating data analyses for policy audiences.

The webinar showcased how Hackathon participants transformed this data into recommendations for fostering sustainable policies.

Participants focused on research that is relevant for each of the five NextGenEU themes: Make it.. Digital, Equal, Green, Healthy, and Strong.

Attendees to this webinar gained valuable insights into the intersection of data science, policy-making, and effective communication.

The winning policy briefs from the Hackathon – Analysing CRONOS data and communicating key insights to policy makers – are available via the news section of our website: Communicating key insights to policy makers.

After completing this webinar, participants will:

  • be familiar with the 5 NextGenEU pillars
  • understand how CRONOS data can inform evidence-based policy decisions
  • know examples of effective communication of research findings
